During her studies Esther started publishing self initiated books under the name 'Uitgeverij Boek'. At this time she publishes the series called
1:1:1 which is initiated and collectively designed by Richard Niessen & Esther de Vries (
Niessen & de Vries) about the work of Eylem Aladogan, Klavers & van Engelen, Scheltens & Abbenes, Metahaven, Gabriel Lester, Joris Laarman, David Jablonowski, Melanie Bonajo and Jennifer Tee.
The compilation of these issues is rewarded for 'Best Book Design 2017', in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and now sold out.
